Microneedling

CONVENIENTLY LOCATED TO SERVE NASHVILLE, BRENTWOOD, AND FRANKLIN

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve skin texture and tone. Using a medical-grade device with ultra-fine needles, microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production. This process enhances skin renewal from within, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin over time.

At PA Plastic Surgery Center, microneedling treatments are performed by experienced Nurse Practitioners using advanced technology and evidence-based techniques to ensure safe, effective, and natural-looking results.

Common Treatment Areas

  • Face: Microneedling improves fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and dull skin, creating a smoother and more youthful complexion.
  • Neck: Treats crepey skin and fine lines, improving firmness and tone in this delicate area.
  • Décolletage: Helps reduce sun damage, fine lines, and uneven skin texture on the chest.
  • Hands: Improves skin quality, texture, and early signs of aging on the hands.
  • Acne or Surgical Scarring: Microneedling is especially effective for softening acne scars and surgical scars to improve skin smoothness.

Mattie Coffey NP What to Expect During Your Appointment

Consultation:

Your visit begins with a personalized consultation. Our Nurse Practitioner will evaluate your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine whether microneedling is the right treatment for you.

Procedure:

The treatment typically takes 30–45 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure to maximize comfort. The microneedling device is then gently passed over the skin to stimulate collagen production.

You will receive detailed aftercare instructions to support healing and enhance results. Mild redness similar to a sunburn is expected and usually resolves within 24–48 hours.

Potential Side Effects

Microneedling is a safe and well-tolerated treatment. Temporary side effects may include:

  • Redness
  • Mild swelling
  • Skin sensitivity
  • Slight pinpoint bleeding during treatment

These effects typically resolve within a few days.

Ideal Candidates

Microneedling is suitable for most individuals looking to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, minimize scarring, or achieve a healthier, more youthful appearance. It is safe for most skin types and tones. A consultation will determine if microneedling is appropriate based on your skin condition and medical history.
